![]() I’m currently a bit disconnected from all video effects because I’m trying to learn and understand about sound (which often seems like the little brother of video but is very important too). Step 2: Choose Transform Mask and then use your selection tool to move your layer into a new position. Tap on your layer and beside the + icon underneath it, click on the downward arrow. Each system has its advantages for my needs.įor example: Inskcape (vector graphics editor) can take 10 seconds to load the work screen on W10, while on Ubuntu Studio it takes about less than 2 seconds. How to Tween in Krita: Step 1: Select the Animation Curves menu to the right of the Animation Timeline. sound in the animation preview, theres no sound whatsoever. First, you will want to decide which audio format fits in with your animation: WAV, MP3. If you access the Krita documentation, you will see how simple it is to add audio to animation. Sure, you can have a silent film, but let’s be realistic: you need good audio. So I have two SSDs (a 480 Gb for W10 and a 120 Gb for Ubuntu Studio). To load an audio file into your Krita document, first open the Timeline Docker. Once you nailed a few crucial animation techniques in Krita, what about audio. I didn’t delve into memory usage, or other more technical issues, but I noticed that the process was smoother on most of them. However, at first I was amazed how (using the same computer) the software I was using in Ubuntu Studio (a version focused on creating and editing video, music, illustrations and images), loaded extremely fast compared to the same versions in W10. Then my needs changed and I focused more attention on GIMP. I only opened it a couple of years ago when I was interested in animation and illustration (I did a quick tour of Synfig and Krita). If anyone could help that would be really appreciated, as I want to work on this project asap! If anyone needs me to provide screenshots / maybe even a screen recording or something, let me know.I haven’t used Krita yet. I played it through and it was perfectly fine.Īnyways, sorry if that was a really lengthy explanation! I'm not really sure how to describe it. This really confused me, as I had no idea which audio would be the final one that went through when I eventually exported the piece, of course not to mention the huge bug (?) that made the frames + audio skip frames.Įventually I decided to check a different file (10 fps, 2000 frames, mp3 audio also from Audacity) I had already animated on, just to see if that file was acting weird as well. I also found that when I selected the part it that would usually skip (around the 260-400 mark) it would play just fine. The further in I selected, the more unaligned it was. It was then that I realised, when selecting/highlighting a group of frames and pressing play, that the audio was slightly off to when I played it normally. I decided I might as well do a few keyframes of the start anyways, seeing as I could always easily transfer them to a different file. I tried restarting my pc, creating a new file, etc, but the issue still persisted. Each time I played it through, I found it would skip a hundred or so frames, at different points too but always within the halfway range. I lowered the fps to 8, leaving the length of the animation to around 500ish frames, yet I still had the issue. You can add sound in Krita via timeline panel, but last time i checked it was only for preview (could have changed, though). I find that around halfway through, it would skip 100 or so frames, including the audio. To test that it wasn't buggy, I played the animation before actually drawing anything (also to test how many frames I needed it to be). Want to try animating in Krita This video covers all the basic functions you will need to know to get started in animation Instructor Josh covers frames, o. The other day I created a new file with 10 fps and an mp3 audio file I had downloaded from Audacity - nothing out of the ordinary. I've been animating with Krita for a few years now, including with audio, and although I've had minor issues (such as the audio glitching out a bit), they have all been easy to fix (usually just lowering the fps to 8-14 will solve any issues). I've googled/scrolled through this subreddit but haven't been able to find anything that lines up with my issue. Hey all! I hope this isn't something that has been answered before. wav file made it work!! would recommend to anyone who has this issue.
